Christmas and New Year are a cause for celebration, spending time with family and friends, and looking back at the year that has passed. The year 2021 was full of exciting highlights for APQP4Wind, and now is the perfect time to recap the year and look forward to the year to come.

As one of Europe’s largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat, Vattenfall has gone through several transitions. Now they want to accelerate fossil-free living with the power of renewables, which is not possible without maturing the wind industry, and as a step of the way, Vattenfall joins forces with APQP4Wind as a new Company Member.

BP has always been about transitions; from coal to oil, from oil to gas, from onshore to deep water, and now towards a new mix of energy sources as the world moves into a lower carbon future. During this journey, the company wants to learn from past experiences and advocate for standardization within quality management by becoming APQP4Wind Company Member.

During this year’s WindEurope Electric City trade fair, the APQP4Wind Secretariat met up with both new and potential Company Members, hosted a workshop for the dedicated APQP4Wind Working Group Members, and successfully held several meetings with the APQP4Wind Board Members to discuss the opportunities to develop and grow APQP4Wind even further.

APQP4Wind is excited to announce that Ørsted is the first utility company to become an APQP4Wind Company Member. As one of the largest utility companies in Europe and the first utility company to join the APQP4Wind Community, Ørsted’s membership is a big step further towards strengthening the cooperation within the supply chain and aligning and maturing the wind industry.

During TÜV Rheinland’s seminar at China Wind Power 2021, Hopewind was announced as a new APQP4Wind Company Member. The APQP4Wind Organization hopes that the addition of Hopewind to the APQP4Wind Community will contribute to improving global collaboration even further.

We are thrilled to announce that Kim Schmidt Petersen, Senior Director of Global QHSE at KK Wind Solutions, has been re-elected as Vice Chairman by the APQP4Wind Board of Directors and that he will continue as Vice Chairman for two more years. The re-election of Kim Schmidt Petersen contributes positively to APQP4Wind by creating continuity in the leadership of our relatively young organization and providing valuable insight from the suppliers’ perspective.

CARCO – Precision Rubber Products Srl recently became an APQP4Wind Company Member to strengthen their position as a seal specialist supplier to producers of wind turbines and main bearings within the wind industry. Adopting the APQP4Wind methodology also supports CARCO’s dedication to wind as they offer reliable seals and substantial savings in the maintenance of wind turbines.
